Diesel engines don't warm up at “normal” idle speed—they must be run at a “fast idle” to generate heat. Many coaches use the following technique: As soon as you start the cold engine, gently and slowly increase the engine speed by depressing the accelerator pedal until you have reached the fast idle rpm setting. Then engage your cruise control (press the button) and gently… slowly… let your foot off the pedal.

Your engine should remain at the fast idle rpm. (Some rigs may have a dash switch marked “IDLE INC/DEC” to activate high idle.)

CHECK ENGINE
By using the Check engine switch you may be able to read the engine fault codes by way of the check engine light flash code(s) feature.

TRANS POW/ECO
I believe this switch is for the mode the transmission is in. Power or Economy.

Thanks for the explanation, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information regarding this subject. All of these switches are rocker switches and it is difficult to tell on and off.
What is considered high idle rpm?

I'm 69 and this is a new adventure in my life, kinda crazy after being a road musician most of my life.

I 'll ask the obvisious question here - you didn't get a manual (s) when you brought the unit?

Usually people who have "great running rigs" will keep all the manuals and records pertaining to it.

If you didn't get the manual (s), perhaps you can go on-line and get them.

Yes, I have all of the manuals for everything and the rig is in amazing condition.
Only 400 hours on the propane generator (just serviced) and 23,000 on the OD.
I've read other Reflection threads that say there isn't much info on the dash.
The manual explains the gauges but nothing on the rocker switches.
Glad you could help, Thanks

Perhaps these people could help you - I know nothing (good or bad) about them.

They are not an RV dealer, but considering they service Cat, Detroit, and Cummins diesel engines, they might be able to provide some information.

Looks like they service all of the components on the Reflection with one exception and that is a Frieghtliner chassis.
Always good to have several avenues for info.

I have never had the need to use them, but they are a big facility here so they must be doing something right.

BTW - I lived in Lubbock from 1980 to 1990.
