Demopolis, AL- Corps of Engineer Park

Currently staying at Foscue Campground near the Demopolis Locks & Dams. It's operated by the corps of engineers. This place is NICE!!! Probably not the best for tents but can handle the biggest of the big rigs. All sites are paved with the picnic table area being gravel. Most sites overlook the impounded Tombigwee River. Some even have decks and such.
The best news is, with my senior pass, they are only $12.00/night and all sites have electric, water AND sewer hook-ups!
I highly recommend all of the Corps of Engineers Sites. Probably head up river in a few days to another one.
They do take reservations but they had probably ten out of 55 sites open when I got here.

Camping world may have the book or get it online from Amazon. To my knowledge, Florida only has 3 or 4 Corp campgrounds and those are on a canal that connects the gulf coast and the Atlantic coasts and crosses lake Okeechobee. I've heard , due to their locations, they are booked many months in advance.
You can also Google "corps of engineers campground" and include name of state.

ReserveAmerica.com is the best resource I have found. Pics of most sites at each CG for COE. listed by state or by map. At 50% off the listed price, if you are old enough, is the best thing going.
