We will be arriving at Fort Wilderness on the 24th.

We just got back from Disney World, although we didn't take the camper since gas would have cost use more than the plane tickets did. We stayed at the Art of Animation resort. We did go over to Fort Wilderness, it made me jealous! I really wish all this snow would go away so we can start using our camper. Have fun at WDW!!

Just went last month and will be going back in November for 2 weeks without any kids for our 25th! We are DVC members I wish we were closer as FWC is soo cheap on points it's ashame that gas is so costly.

We have our first class A and are looking forward to the Disney experience with or without grand kids. We have 10 and they all want to go at the same time. We are from Richmond, VA and can't wait to get on the road. Any suggestions????

wow ~ I recently checked it out and decided it was too much money We have been there, done that and really loved it tho. It's really the best with kiddos Lots of great memories there.

Suggestions ~ take bikes or a golf cart (with working lights) or reserve one for your trip. Also, they do a good job with mosquito issues ~ and it has been dry of late ~ still, be sure to bring mosquito repellant of some sort and especially sunscreen

One of our favorite things to do is to ride the transport boats at fireworks time and to relax in the beach loungers as the night water parade goes by. Also, we like snooping around the other resorts in the area and have been known to sneak in a few pools "uninvited" they tell you not to, but.......

The campground can flood in areas pretty easily, so bring some shoes that you can walk through puddles with.

Re: mosquitos - with Debby last year and a mild winter, they are pretty vicious. Bug spray with DEET is recommended to repel the super-size ones. Don't believe me? Gallinippers! Monster mosquitoes poised to strike Florida - CBS News

JFM,
How does the DVC work with the FW campground? Is it cost effective to get the DVC and use it for Fort Wilderness? Any other benefits of getting the DVC?
Thanks,
Tom

When will you be there in August? We will be there 8/10-8/17. I think we will be in the 1300 loop.

Haven't finalized yet, either that week or the following one. Will post as soon as we know. Just waiting on another family member for their preference.

Hitched our camper up tonight in Cleveland, oh in the middle of a snow storm. Supposed to get 4-8 inches overnight. Going to be an interesting drive tomorrow. Can't wait to see sunny skies and Mickey mouse on saturday.

Be careful with all that snow. Have a safe trip.
