First days travels were much slower than planned. Pulled into the KOA in yomassee SCat midnight.

A landslide on i77 closed the north bound Lanes by the tunnels in WVA.

Safe travels everyone

We sat last evening on I-95 South for about two hours due to a car rear ending a travel trailer.

We arrived at LazyDays around lunch today. A couple small warranty issues taken care of. We'll spend the night here and head over to Disney in the morning.

We have been fortunate - this is our second coach from them and our salesman goes above and beyond to make sure we are not lost in the every day shuffle.

1700 loop is nice. Short walk to the pool. Quiet and even darker than other loops as a result of the creative way I extinguished a campground bumper height street light across from my site while backing in. I even got a new brown accent paint stripe on my bumper at no extra charge. Oh well. Love my Adventures with Rooby.

We have DVC also and I agree using points is the best way to go, how far out did you have to book using your points, we usually stay a couple of weeks but could not get in using points this year.

We rolled past last evening on the golf cart, but it did not look like anyone was home.

Spent the day at Kennedy space center. Took the then and now tour and watched the Hubble IMAX. Great day trip and different pace than the parks.

Heading out early tomorrow for universal. Kids can't wait to see the Harry potter area.

We're off to Animal Kingdom today. We'll do a drive by this evening.

We're in 517.

A cold but pleasant day at Universal Studios. New express purchase options are tricky. They promote the two park one fare option and don't mention you can still get a single park pass. Got there right at 8 and race walked to The World of Harry Potter. There was already a 75 minute wait when we arrived. The wait went quickly though and we enjoyed talking to a lot of other Potter fans. The ride was worth the wait!!!

When we came out of the ride, the wait had mushroomed to over 2 hours and they were actually diverting people with "come back later" passes to the whole potter area because it was jam packed with people. Future travelers beware, this single destination could consume your whole day due to the crowds and wait time and also consume the contents of your wallets.

The rest of the park was too crowded for our family so we took the opportunity to use the two park ticket and went to the studios for a while. The crowds were large there too. The place is much more compact than the magic kingdom or Epcot and the line management process was less refined than WDW.

We exceeded our amusement park quotas physically, mentally and financially for this trip so we headed back to the campsite early to relax and enjoy our last night here before heading up to Savannah tomorrow.

A good 5 days, but in retrospect, our 3 week 7,500 mile trip yielded many more memories for much less cost. We will probably make one more trip to the Orlando area before we are empty nesters, but I am looking forward to much lazier, more natural camping adventures for the next couple years.

Sounds like you got caught with all the other spring breakers. Glad you had fun, though!

We went to Orlando over the Christmas this past year. There were an insane number of people.

We had a similar experience with the amount of people at Universal. Only we're not 8am arrivers. More like noon! We talked to one of the employees outside of the wand shop. She told me that they had been seeing that once it got dark and a little cold (late December), the lines greatly diminished. We had a 30-minute wait for the Harry Potter ride, 15-minutes for the wand shop and only about 10 for the roller coaster that went past Hagrid's house and I walked onto the other 2 rides with no wait.

But- it was cold! We were in winter coats.

I wonder if there's ever a "good time" for Disney. I went in February once and got through all of WDW in a day, never any lines...Post Holiday, pre-spring break maybe? Kiddies in school normally. I'm just saying....
anybody else know a good time to go?

The stats that are tracked on Disney are amazing. Not sure how accurate this is, but might give you an idea......
