To be totally honest, many of our favorite camping memories were when it rained the entire trip. We go rain or shine!

We just had to TAKE a trip due to the forecasted rains and wind from Hurricane Mathew. A 12 ft tidal surge and 120 mph forecasted winds helped us make our decision We live on St Simons Island, GA.

Cancelled our trip to Jekyll Island. May stop on the way to Florida in January or on the return trip after Louisiana in March.

We go rain or shine. If it rains we enjoy some time together inside. If good weather we walk, ride the bikes or relax outside. It is much easier to set up and break down the motor home in the rain than the travel trailer was.

We don't cancel for rain, including thunderstorms (whether tent, pop-up, or hybrid). We do not cancel for light snow.

I do cancel for rain that is expected to cause flooding in the campground or the roads leading to and from it, or if the snow will be moderate to severe. Not because I don't want the snow on the camper canvas or tent, but I don't want to be driving the camper home over salted roads.
