We love camping in the rain. Great time to sit under the awning and read while listening to the blues. In fact we're doing it right now. Click image for larger version

(NOT making light of people who got flooded out, etc. - that is NO FUN.)

Sitting at the county campground now ...

Got in Thursday night ... felt a few drops of rain as we were emptying the dogs ... ultimately got between one and two inches of rain. CBS was nice enough to broadcast the football game, so we noshed our way through it.

Our "joke" ... is that we aren't camping until we hear the sound of a good hard rain on the roof.

( Upgrading from the TC which put a single sandwich of material between us and the sky, to our current TT which has an "attic" space - it seems like the storms try a little harder to compensate. )

We also like the sound of rain while sitting under awning or lying in bed, but I must admit, I don't like setting up or breaking down in the rain. The pop up is a PITA to deal with in the rain.

I don't cancel for rain or snow with that said some of the camp sites I go to here in Idaho are on roads that are not "All Season" so instead of cancel I change destination but still go.

We like in the great North Wet...I mean West. If we canceled for rain our window would be very small. We spend most of our time at the Oregon and Washington Coast, we love the rain!

Might want to cancel if the area is expecting 10-12 inches of rain, high winds and 3-6 feet of storm surge .............. and the campground has pulled their storage lot trucks across the entrance and exit. and closed. and is under a mandatory evacuation................

We have only had a few trips when it didn't rain. A rainy day camping is just another way to relax. We were going to contract out our trips to areas that needed rain, but this year we had 2 dry trips.
