Edisto beach state park or Skidaway island state park

Just wondering which would be better to camp in March? Edisto has only wooded sites beach sites are closed due to damage from hurricane Matthew. Was wondering which campground would be less buggy in March.

I have been down to Skidaway Island State Park several times and we love it. I don't ever remember having issues with bugs that early in the year, however, one time when my wife and I took the kids on a walk on one of the trails we found a HUGE alligator. If you do go there make the trip over to Tybee Island and eat at the Crab Shack.

I like a park that is close to Skidaway Island. It is Fort McAllister State Park. It is very nice and has a cool fort that you can check out why you are there. We have stayed there many times.

Lots of these are booked early. Don't wait too long. We got disappointed in not being to book ther for next weekend, even though we tried a month earlier.
