Garner State Park is awesome. Inks Lake is also great. Two if our favorites when we lived in Texas. Now retired in South Carolina, so the NC mountains are our go to destinations.

X2 on Inks lake. Brought. Our kayaks and had a great time. Try to get to the bird watching station. Just opened last year. A lot of nice sites right on the lake.

We like Lake Whitney State Park and Eisenhower State Park. Going to Mother Neff over Memorial Day weekend.
Have fun.
