If you go to Gatlinburg, eat breakfast at the Pancake Pantry, it is a must any time we are there. You will most likely have to wait to get in unless you get there early. Warning, they only take cash, but they do have an ATM. When you visit Cades Cove, stop at the campground store (turn right at the stop sign when you exit the loop). Best ice cream anywhere. You can drive through the campground too. In Pigeon Forge, eat at the Old Mill. If you like pecan pie, pick one up on your way out. I know it doesn't sound like it, but we do other things besides eating when we go camping. Hope you have a great time, we love going there.

Fantastic suggestions, thanks!! And definitely no judgements here. We're talking about taking a 2hr drive to VA to eat White Castle! It's been nearly 20 years since I've had it! Lol

We were thinking of going to Anchor Down for the week before Easter but changed directions a week or two ago. We are now headed to Stone Mountain Park GA.
I wanted to see this historic mountain carving while I can..So we just made reservations back a few..We are leaving home on Sunday and planning to return either Friday or Saturday so we will be home for Easter Sunday. Last few years we are either traveling on Easter, to or from our destination. SO we changed it up some. I still have to whole week off as does the bride.
Enjoy Townsend.. Very nice area up there and see if you can get a swim in at the "Y"..
Randy

Log Cabin Pancake House is another great place to eat breakfast at, they serve crepes, blueberry, cherry, peach, apple. You get 3 and then homemade whipped cream over the top. They serve pancakes and ham and eggs. It's great. Old Mill Restaurant is great too. Don't forget the Apple Barn, we go there first. Apple turnovers and apple dumplings with ice cream, yum yum

You are a better man than me, if I had to choose between dog food and White Castle I would choose the dog food. Lol we have many around us and have only set foot in one one time.

Ohh! Please let me know how you like it. We went to Stone Mountain State Park here in NC and it was stunning! If you haven't been, go! It's in Roaring Gap and has great hikes and waterfalls to explore.

I don't know what the "Y" is but there will be no swimming for us, the park owner said to bring warm clothes, it isn't unheard of to snow that late in March!

Enjoy your trip!

I'll weigh in with the best BBQ in the area by far - Full Service BBQ in Maryville, a short drive from Townsend, maybe 20-25 min.

What kind of BBQ? I like pork BBQ, vinegar based, someplaces like sweet BBQ, not for me. I like it vinegar based and I like red pepper in it

I like both. But if you're ever in South Charlotte, take a drive down 521 to 521 BBQ. Best in the area.
