Full Service in Maryville has great pulled pork, also chicken, brisket and there are weekly/monthly specials like smoked ham, etc.... They have a few sauces but all are tomato paste based.
For a great pulled pork BBQ sandwich and fries, with a really good pepper infused vinegar sauce then the go to place in our area is Hickory Cabin Seasoning Co. a small place near the Sevier County Courthouse on Joy St, and they are only open for lunch during the week. They do a tremendous amount of catering and are closed sometimes during the week, as it is truly a mom & pop shop with the occasional one extra helper. check them out at hickorycabinonline.com or send the owner an email at Bill Moore <hickorycabin@live.com> to get on the daily special email. Usually a sandwich and 2 sides, or one side and dessert in the $7.49 range.
Fullservice BBQ can be found at fullservicebbq.com, there are two locations, Maryville in an old selfserve service station, open air eating under a big carport roof, or if you need fresh cut fries as a side try the Knoxville location on Merchant's right off of I75 located in an old Sonic. Picnic tables set up for eating.
Either is an excellent choice (considering we are in East Tennessee) you Texas and North Carolina folks I understand what good BBQ is and these two in my opinion beat the competition hands down in this area... Enjoy your trip, safe travels!
