I am sure that you will enjoy it, and things down here have been pretty good since 2005 or so, but as a S/W Florida beach resident, those dates are pretty close to hurricane season peak...and still really hot and humid!

In season rates don't start until October 15th for both of those reasons.

Kept watching Reserve America & got a sight for the last week of April @ Curry Hammock S/P. Can't wait; conch fritters & key lime pie @ Sparky's.

We have booked a spot at Blue Water Key Resort for the week of July 4th. With my kids schedule that was the only time we could go. I can't wait!

We were there last week and had to share our site with 3 of the locals.

We took our 5er down to John Pennekamp last year. We really liked it. We have 9 year old twins and they also enjoyed it. No sand beaches but still nice. Have a great time.

Thought I would see if anybody on FRF beside me & my bride are going to be in the keys this next week (4/24-5/1). If so, enjoy & have a great time. If not, bummer.

Pennekamp is great if you're bringing a boat but otherwise is not as nice as the other Keys state parks. In any case time in the keys in the middle of glorious summer when the waters are warm and flat is priceless. By all means go on a snorkeling boat and maybe a fishing boat too. Have a great trip.

At Bluewater, depending on the time of year and category of site, I've paid up to $200/night.
