Retiring this and looking to find a RV campground to make reservation for next Jan, Feb, March, 2017. Does anybody have any recomendation for any, we have being looking around in the middle of the state between Tampa on the Gulf side or the Atlantic side. There are so many places, and if we are to stay 3 months I would like it to be nice, internet pictures does not always show and tell everything, I know we will be paying about $ 800./a month. This will be our first year to be snowbirds and hope we can get some feed back from everyone that has been there or is there.

We stayed in Clearwater RV Park Clearwater Travel Resort - Home Page and found it convenient and well cared for and it is in your price range. On the Atlantic side we stayed at North Beach Camp Resort and found it very nice North Beach Campground | A Premier St. Augustine, Florida Camping Experience

There are many others but of the ones we have used these are the ones we would recommend.

If you wanna go further south, Fort Myers is great in the winter. We stayed at Seminole Campground. Beutifull park, good folks all around. Convenient to everything. Also right of interstate but not close enogh for noise. 3 months cost was 800+ electric.

We are first time snowbirds and we are staying at Upriver Campground RV Resort in North Fort Myers, Fl. It is along the Caloosahatchee River. We scoped the area for other campgrounds but did not find one we liked better. Seminole Campground came in as close second.

We are staying in a standard site with a concrete patio for 2 months at $1,105 a month. If we would have reserved for 3 months it would have been $1,039 a month. We liked it here enough that we already reserved to stay for 3 months next year. We are going to stay in a premium site next year which is $1,095.

Both campgrounds are close to I-75 but far enough from traffic noise. Where we are it is about a mile from I-75 on state road 78. To shop for about anything and dine just head west on 78 for a short distant and you'll find just about everything and it is not as traffic congested as Fort Myers.

If your budget is $800 a month I think Seminole Campground. If you are planning for next Jan thru March you will need to reserve now. Anyone that registers for 3 months or more will be given priority over reservations for less. People that are retuning from this year and previous years are given higher priority.

We are first timers this year and are staying at Riverside RV Resort and Campground. The mailing address is Arcadia but we are closer to Port Charlotte. 4 miles off of I-75 exit where just about everything you could need is close by, including all of our favorites, a Walmart superstore! We are paying 1102.00 /month and 30 amp electric is included! 50 amp is 25.00/mo more. VERY clean, quiet, and with all the activities they offer, if you get bored, it's YOUR fault! :-) Already reserved for next year.

My wife and I stayed at Harbor Lakes down by Port Charlotte for a few nights last year. We're not retired...we just go down for the Ray's spring training games. It was very clean and friendly....lots of restaurants down the road and the monthly ranged about $900 to 1100.

Can vouch for the Webster Flea Market. It has everything and a lot of covered displays and a humongous bunch of items west of the covered displays. You can easily spend an entire day and lighten your wallet! There is also a very good restaurant on the east side of the highway.
