Ok, so I'll avoid Walton Rocks Beach. No pets for us (well, except for the demon spawns).

Thanks for the ideas, seriously!

Fort DeSoto

We stay @ Fort Desoto every 6 months or so ... the drive to the beach is nothing & is a great bike ride if you don't take a lot of stuff. Easy to get midweek reservations (relatively speaking) and is a county park. We stay in the dog park & from our site fish (can't swim - muddy) & watch sunsets).

Keeping an eye on this thread ...we are also in search of beachfront ... there are a few around Jacksonville & St Augustine that look very swimmable....

Are any of your Froggers going to be in Port Richey, FL? We will be there from Jan 19-Feb 4. Come look us up, if you're there.

I've stayed in Red Coconut and Beverly Beach. Both on the beach. More to do in Fort Myers Beach (Red Coconut). A lot more space in Beverly Beach. Beverly Beach is less than an hour from St. Augustine, lots to see and do there. They both have sites available in the summer months. I recently saw an article for 10 State Parks in Florida on the beach. They have good parks and are less expensive on the beach. Again summer should not be a problem. Have fun.

this place is fabulous COJ.net - Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park

We've been here two or three times off season so it was chilly but the beach isn't dog friendly so we don't really stay here. If you have kids you have to check it out.

Where will you be at?

As to Hannah Park ...our dog doesn't really like the water (waves) so it is not an issue for her to stay at the camper (happy in her crate inside in the ac)

At Fort Desoto now and love it. Are you sure there are fish here? I fished all afternoon with a Heron about 10 feet from me. Neither one of us caught any fish.
