Though I have never camped there myself, I know several people who have, and they all give it high marks. That would be Fort DeSoto Park.

Pinellas County, Florida, Park & Conservation Resources - Fort De Soto Park

Note that is not a state park, but a Pinellas County park. I also understand reservations are hard to get unless you book as early as possible.

We spent an hour sitting here when we were at this beautiful Florida park over the July 4th weekend. Talk about a peaceful setting...

Can you guess which park we were at?

Just an FYI, IIRC, Topsaul does not have fire rings and does not allow ground fires.

I think Topsail never allowed fires and fire rings because it might damage the landscaping. Probably a throwback to when it was a private resort.

No, but Horseshoe Cove has a nice gazebo with a swing looking out over the Braden River ~ lots of fun for watching mullet, manatees, and gators

Suwannee River SP. And if it wasn't for the rain, we would have sat there longer!

Just south of Suwannee State PArk is the Stephen Foster Cultural Center State Park. A very lovely park. They have a 92 bell carillon that plays Stephen Foster songs periodically during the day. We'll be back.
