We're from the midwest living from Tennessee to Missouri and July/August can be hot and humid no manner where you reside. The higher elevations of the Ozarks, Smokies and Appalachians, or ocean breezes along the coast can bring relief, but you'll need to go further north to get consistent cooler temperatures.

Try Trackrock campground near Blairsville Georgia. It is in the Smokey Mtns near the North Carolina & Tennessee borders. Compared to "Florida heat and humidity", it's wonderful. There are other campgrounds in that area of the north Georgia mountains, and any of them are better than Florida for a heat escape.

Ben as a family we camped at Indian Lake many times. The fishing was great and it's a beautiful spot. We full time now and have a lot in Fort Myers and one in Traverse City Mi. I can't think of two better places to be.

We head to north Georgia mountains or western North Carolina. Can still be hot during the day but can't beat that campfire weather after sundown.

We go to Creekside RV Park in Pigeon Forge, TN. Most of the time it is cooler and less humid than FL. We live in Jacksonville and I hate the heat and humidity myself.
