Some Fjs have hotels and hot showers you can reserve. But seriously who wants to sleep or shower after some sweaty fat trucker who's binged on junk food in truck stops. No way. Get your fuel and move along folks. Some truckers see a TT or a pusher and get curious if it's a rolling brothel... So download the RVParky app and find a Cracker Barrel or a Walmart and get some sleep. personally Walmarts are more public than Cracker Barrel so there's less chance someone would bother you. I pack a few guns and travel with 2 very large loud dogs for this purpose. I ain't scared of anything except the stuff on the bathroom floors at truck stops...

I made the mistake of trying to stop for the night in a Florida rest area on the way south. The lot was pretty much empty when I pulled in around 8:30pm. I heard some trucks coming in later on in the evening and parking. Wasn't too bad until one pulled in next to me with a reefer trailer about 12:30am. Darn thing kicked on every 15 minutes and ran for 5 minutes...it's was like water torture! I finally couldn't take it any more and jumped into the driver's seat and took off. One exit later I found a Cracker Barrel just off the ramp and spent the rest of the night in peace and quiet. For me no rest areas or truck stops!

Why? Do you use truck lanes? Most Pilots don't have RV lanes. I use either because I use truck lanes. Hate RV lanes at FJ. Pumps way to slow for diesel. I don't think they ever clean the fuel filters so pumps get really slow.

I try to avoid Loves because I have to prepay. Never had to prepay at Pilot or FJ.

Oops... Thread hijack... Sorry, but I already spent the time typing it in

Cracker Barrel has always given us permission to overnight as we stop there to eat every trip. They are at virtually every major highway intersection. I generally put $300 on a CB card and eat off it rather than cash. Good RV parking in rear, but sometimes blocked by 4 wheelers during rush hour that don't know any better. They just stand there looking at you like "I got here first"!
FlyingJ/Pilots have an RV Card that gives you a good discount on fuel and DEF and you can generally park out front away from the trucks. Goods restaurants as a rule and anything you might need for the TV or TT. Never been turned away. Diesel, gas, propane, DEF, dumps and restaurants are at most FJs.
Not good experience the two times we did Wally World. Had a car full of bad looking dudes circle the unit real slow several times till I went to the door and they drove off. Scare lights are good to have. The second time, another RV blocked us in during the night and blasted his TV with windows open till after midnight. Cop car came up and parked right beside us for several hours taking a snooze.
