Smile Fort Wilderness bound

We will be heading out tomorrow evening for a 10 day vacation at Fort Wilderness Disney. We will be taking Rt 78 west to 81 south to 83 south then eventually making it onto 95 south. Is there any construction issues along this route that could delay our travels. We prefer driving in the eveing and driving through the night. We have three people to drive the coach. This will be the longest drive to date with our Pursuit 32. We just installed Sumosprings and the safe-t-plus stabalizer.
Thanks for your feedback.

I recommend taking 81 south to 77 south to 26 east to 95 south. I go to Ft Wilderness every year and this is my preferred route. I'll be there 4/14 - 4/19.

Just came the 77 south to 26 east (south) yesterday into FL and there is a tremendous amount of construction on both of these right now. Especially from Charlotte south. Be prepared to wait no matter your route. Even so, I still like this route better than 81.

When you exit I95 to I4 get off of 4 at 46 and go over to 429. It is a toll but you miss all the construction in Orlando. 429 put you right at Disney. Or use 417. both are toll roads but worth it to miss the mess in Orlando.

A million times yes! I-4 SUCKS. That stretch is always littered with accidents.

If you use EZ pass be sure to bring cash if you go this way. They don't accept EZ pass in FL.

E-ZPass is accepted on certain parts of Florida's CFX toll roads since September 2018. Part of 429 and part of 417 accept E-ZPass. It is only accepted on parts of CFX highways. Here is a link to their site, it contains a map of the CFX roads:

Since you are traveling at night, you should be fine on the route you mentioned.

This is no surprise. Prior Disney trips, while riding the Disney buses and looking down into cars around the bus, there is an alarming number of people texting and messing with phones while they drive, I'd go as far as to say half.

We are taking great granddaughter April 8 for four nights. The campground site is not cheap, DW said she didn’t ever want to hear me complain about high prices again. $177 a night. We wil probably just visit one park for one day, Magic Kingdom, she is three. Pools, golf cart and riding the ponies

Never mind, just found the rates https://www.mousesavers.com/2019-for...-season-dates/ Doesn't help that you are going the most expensive time of year, now through Easter.

Check the rates around Halloween and Christmas just as high. almost cheaper now to do a resort. We use our DVC but would love to return to the Fort again

Full hookup site for Halloween period Oct 14-Nov 7 is only 105 or 115 a night depending on day of week, that's not so bad. Seems to be one of the cheaper times of year to go.

We'll be in the Disney area if you need anything while you're here. Not at the Fort, but just a few miles down the road. In the unlikely event that you do, my daughter loves kids and is certified if you happen to need a sitter.

I have fell head over heels in love with granddaughter for about three years now. She is a trip, wish I could keep her forever. But thanks anyway

You can request a specific loop or even campsite. Get the sites at the fort app to get a look at the actual site. It rates the sites on how easy to get into. if you call early you can sometimes get an upgrade for no extra.

I bet the premium sites are two hundred bucks a night. I was planning on taking another grandson but he didn’t want to go without his mama and daddy, that was a no no. This trip is just for grandparents and grandkids. Anyway I can’t take the money with me when I go. I rented a golf cart today, two hundred bucks for three days. I don’t think we will go inside the parks, granddaughter doesn’t like the Disney Characters, Pooh Bear and the rest. She won’t even sit in Santa’s lap, probably a good thing

We love Disney. This year makes our 4th consecutive year going. When we enter the park, we're become 8 years old again. Due to my wife's declining health, this may be our last trip.
