We were there last fall, had a great time. Mine for gemstones, scenic Blueridge Parkway, Great Smokey Mountains Park. There are a couple of musems in Franklin. Take a drive West of town up to the old firetower, the road up to it is gravel and crooked. We walked up to Clingmans Dome in the Great Smokey Mountains. There is rafting nearby. Go see the waterfalls South of Franklin, a nice drive.
