From Ohio south?

The wife, mutts and I are going to the Loudonville Ohio Rally, more or less direct from the New Orleans area thru Alabama, Nashville and Louisville, but would like recommendations for our return trip, taking maybe five to seven days. As this is our first long trip (long for us) I think I'd like to avoid boon-docking!

I meant to include a question about the Sandusky area on Lake Erie. Any ideas?

Many of the local camp grounds are closing at the end of October, some even before that. You didn't mention when you were traveling? Doubt there would be much happening this late in the year in Sandusky and Lake Erie is quite cold by now.
Maybe on your return South you could come down I-77 through Wytheville, VA which a very beautiful area with many hotel/motels and campgrounds, horseback, hiking, etc. Further down I-77 near Columbia SC you can go West toward Atlanta, I-20 toward Alabama. Lake Wateree north of Columbia ( 3 hrs south of Wytheville ) is a great State park, fishing, some hiking areas, all wooded, $21/night +. Been there many times, open all year I believe. Check for sites at ReserveAmerica.com
