Ga to Maine

Planning a trip from Ga to Maine late this summer. Looking for any and all recommendations for a route, things to see and campgrounds.

Not sure now, but will be headed up that way in two weeks. Not sure if you will still be interested, or if you want your trip pre-planned all the way, but msg me and we can exchange emails.

Maine ideas

We have been to Maine 4 or 5 times, but early this fall will be our first with a TT. We really like the York Beach area and there's a campground that we're going to be staying at - Libby's Oceanside Campground at York Beach. As the name implies, it's right on the ocean. After we spend about a week at York Beach, we're going up to Bar Harbor. There's a KOA there that has ocean views also. If you're traveling with a dog, York Beach allows them off leash on the beach before 8:00 AM and after about 6:00 PM on leash. Bar Harbor is EXTREMELY dog friendly. We took our German Shepherd with us 3 years ago and had a great time at both places.

We are also from Georgia and we are in Bar Harbor now. We went to Mt.Airy, then to Gettysburg. From there we went to Lancaster, Pa. From there we came to Littleton, Ma. Then on to Bar Harbor.

Sounds like the route I was looking at. Is the trek from Mt Airy to Gettysburg doable in one day?

Bar Harbor KOA is nice, but the waterfront sites are pricey. We don't normally pay $100.00 a night, but we did there. And no regrets as it was beautiful.

Spent less than half the $100+ we spent at Bar Harbor KOA at Bar Harbor Campground. Close to Bar Harbor, nice pull thrus(bring at least 20' of sewer hose). Some sites with a view just a really nice campground

You can but we stopped in Edinburg, Va. Stayed in Creek Side CG. If you choose to stop, DO NOT follow GPS. Call for directions. The CG is small.

We are in Narrows Too CG and it is nice. We originally planned on staying one week and extended it to 2. We will be leaving Sunday, the 21st.
