Georgia Veterans State Park

Heading up to Cordele, Ga and staying a week at Ga Veterans State Park. Like the idea of a State Park with a golf course. Has anyone on the FR Forum stayed there?? Good or otherwise reports would be helpful.

yes we have. we only live but about 45 minutes from there. My wife and Kids had our 1st rv camping trip there. It is a very nice campground...especially by the water. I must warn you though....TAKE A FAN Take 2 or 3 fans. why? GNATS. they will pester the stew out of you. Hate to tell you that but its just the truth. take away the gnats and its very nice. but a fan is a must while camping in the summer in middle jawja.

I stayed there a few years ago. They have a military display (Tanks, planes, etc.) of sorts as you pass the office. It was Memorial Day weekend and they had some displays set up with guys dressed in period correct military uniforms. They then put on mock battles, which was pretty cool to watch.

They also have a huge field where people come out to fly R/C planes. There must have been 30 to 40 R/C planes there. It was cool to watch them fly and perform stunts.

We had a great time.

I've always told my wife, who is a Ga native, that if I ever move from Ga, it will be because of the dag nabbit gnats.
