Gettysburg Battlefield RV Resort
Has anyone stayed at the above resort, if so how is it and how are the sites. We are going up on 4-5-2015 for the week and have never been their before. Thanks

We really like it. Mother in law has a membership there and we go a couple times a year. Depending on what site you have it can be a bit close but for the few times a year we go we don't mind. We also get plenty of state park time. Facilities are generally well maintained and it's close to the battlefield. Nice pool even if it's a bit early for that. Plenty to do in town. There is even a monument located right off the property with a trail to it. We will be there in the middle of April. Have fun!

We spent a few days there in the past. Very nice and close to town. Operators were first class and nice.

I looked it up because I was interested but couldn't find the price. It does seem like a nice looking place. The only time we went to Gettysburg we stayed at the KOA and it was ok again sites were a bit close together.

Keep in mind it's a membership park and if you are not a member they WILL TRY to sell you the membership. I have heard both good & bad things about the park itself.

that's pretty funny, we camp a lot with another couple, we're headed out for our first 2015 trip next weekend, and we were debating between Harpers Ferry and Gettysburg.

I'd love to check out that campground July 1-3. I betcha reservations are real tough to get during those dates.

We're members at GBR. We like it. It's very well maintained, very friendly staff. We'll be there that same weekend too. Lol.
I assume you have scheduled a 'tour' of the campground? That's the sales pitch. Lol.
One thing we are impressed with, the showers have separate complete bathrooms. And are kept clean.
They also do their own reenactment in July.

We stayed there in the summer of 2013. Nice park but due to trees, if you have satellite you better have a moveable dish.

Resorts are expensive
Brother has membership at GCR and it's expensive. Hard, if not impossible, to sell if dissatisfied. Also quarterly member maintenance fee. Be careful of sales pitch, very high pressure. Campground nice but dusty (stone roads) and no cable TV hookups. Some sites crowded. There are at least 5 over campgrounds around Gettysburg to choose from.

stayed there a couple of nights last fall. not the greatest but not the worst. staff great, close to town & bussed in for tour of the battlefield (had a wonderful guide!). as mentioned previously, some of the sites are close together (ours was one of them) which would be my only complaint . . .
