gettysburg campgrounds
Help. Cant decide which campground to book near gettysburg for two nights on a return trip from s. Carolina. Like ammenities, but cleanliness and security most important. Trip advisor reviews equally mixed with all cgs in the area. Counting on frf to give me the truth.

It has been a few years since we have stayed there however, I can recommend Round Top Campground. We went almost every year for a Family Motor Coach rally around Christmas time. They have alot of sites and it is well kept. I haven't stayed at any others though in the area so I can't say.

Have fun!

Will be staying at Granite Hill next weekend and will let you know, if that's soon enough.

Love Gettysburg! We've stayed at Granite Hill 3-4 times. Very nice! Huge mini golf, decent pool, away from town. Artillery Ridge once. You can access battlefield in one mile, I believe. My inlaws love Little Drummer Boy. Enjoy Gettysburg

Thx for the reccomendations. Its the leg home stop. However, i've been reading about how common ticks are there...and more impotantly...how prevalent lymes disease is in that regionthe of Pa. Going to pass camping in the area until colder, drier weather and stop off elsewhere. Too bad. Love civil war stuff.

The Gettysburg KOA is nice (but pricey) and we stayed there 3 times (most recent for the 150th Anniversary of the battle).
The owners are great but it is an old campground. The 50 amp service sites are newer and fine, but the 30 amp loop we were on still has low power in the heat ( Franks stage one boost was on the entire time we used air conditioning to keep voltage above 110).
Pool was small and was crowded on the weekends.
Our next visit will be to another campground for a comparison.

We love Gettysburg too, and go there 2-3 times a year. We just got the fifth wheel this spring, so our visit next weekend will be our first time camping. We're staying at Granite Hill for for their Bluegrass Festival. Going back again in November for Remembrance Day and I think we'll try Gettysburg CG then. In all the times we've been there we've walked the battlefield a LOT and I never recall any particular problem with ticks.

We stayed at the koa there in early may. Very well kept and super clean! Even though it was only in the 70s they had the pool heated to 80 so the kids had a blast! Kids also discovered carpet ball.....they have been asking me to make a carpet ball table ever since!

I too visited Granite Hill (tent camping with 30+ Boy Scouts) a few years ago - met all our expectations and worked out well.

Both Granite Hill and Little Drummer Boy Nice camp grounds we go to both of them. Granite Hill has a very big Put Put course if you are into that. Drummer boy is big and we like to stay in the back area there.

We stayed at Drummer Boy CG twice and love the big, wide sites. Very quite and staff was wonderful, pools were nice to sit back a relax in after a full day of walking. My vote goes to Drummer Boy!
