Can still get a bit chilly, but probably mid-seventies for the most part. Nights may still be cool & damp. Oh, and the Black Flies.....you'll be arriving just in time! They are the little nuisance type, like knats. Usually last from mid-May into the beginning of June.

That's a very broad question for a state that is roughly 375 miles long, you didn't specify what part of the state you are visiting. We usually camp in July at Acadia National Park and nights can still dip into the 40's. Last year's 4th of July, it was damp and we were dressed in pants and heavy jackets in Bar Harbor watching fireworks. So you never know.....

I think you need to be prepared for any weather when visiting Maine, especially on the shore.

We often spend the whole summer in mid coast Maine, Boothbay area. May and early June tend to be cool days and chilly nights. Lows in the 40's not uncommon. Usually this time of year can be very wet, both rain and fog especially along the coast. But the last two years it was warm early and there was very little fog all summer long. Climate change or just coincidence? Don't know, but we have also had close brushes with hurricanes the last two years and we hadn't seen one up there in a long long time.
