Greeneville, South Carolina

I know there was a mention of an RV park in or near Greenville, SC this past winter.

I may have to visit a ill nephew there. Looking for advice and suggestions as to where to stay with full hookups.

I am not familiar with the area. I think he lives a bit south of the city center near Rt. 29/ 185.

Unfortunately there are not any good campgrounds real close to the city of Greenville. I recommend the KOA at Travelers Rest/N. Greenville. It's north of downtown Greenville about 20 miles. It's very nice.

There is also a KOA just down the road from the outlet mall in Gaffney, SC. It is a little under an hour or so from Greenville. It was a pretty nice park with lots of trees/shade and had a nice pool.

Yes, there is the Gaffney KOA as you mentioned. However, with all of the current road construction on north and south I-85, I would recommend the Travelers Rest KOA just north of Greenville. Most of the interstate from Greenville to Gaffney is one lane in both directions. Travel during the work week takes a long time.

We just got back from Greenville, SC and spent 4 days at Trantors Creek RV resort. Dirt roads but well maintain and very friendly folks, I brought my fishing kayak and fished the creek one morning. We loved it.

Martsing: Agree Trantors Creek RV Resort is nice. However, I believe the OP was looking for CGs near Greenville, SC. Trantors is located in Washington, NC which is near Greenville, NC, about 5 1/2 hours from Greenville, SC. Quick fact: there is a Greenville in every state of the US.

I appreciate all the input. I too had the Greenvilles mixed up for awhile.

I was hoping to find something closer to my relatives house and to St. Francis hospital downtown.

I will explore other options, perhaps dry camping.

My RV is 24 feet long. Anyone know the availability and permissibility of parking closer to my destinations?

Delco Bobby: your original post indicated you were looking for FHU. If not required, try Paris Mountain State Park. It's about five miles north from St Francis hospital. Also, look at Springwood RV Park. It is located about 10 miles south of St Francis hospital. Mostly permanent sites but may have an opening for a short period of time. It is located at the Old Donaldson AFB, now an industrial park with Lockheed Martin Aircraft Facility located there also. Good luck.

Yes, full hookup is preferred but if not available close by then I have to change my plans.

I really don’t know if he will be in St. Francis when and if I get down there. He was already moved once. We will know more in a few days.

I will explore both of your suggestions.

Thanks.

Springwood is about 12 minutes from his house so that is a good option.

Thanks again.

Mea Culpa! So sorry. Either way. Tranter's in NC was a great place to stay!
I even wrote "SC" in my response. What a goob.

Pine Ridge campground is close to 26. It's got full hook-ups and is very nice. May be further than you want to drive though.
