Gun storage Maine

I am a handgun owner. I want to take a trip to Nova Scotia this summer . They do not allow handguns in Canada . Does anyone know of a storage option in Maine and then pick it up on my return a week later?

As long as this stays on topic... This might last (gun stuff causes feather ruffling on here).

I heard on a firearms podcast that someone used an FFL. They stopped at an FFL (Gun store) before crossing the border to drop the gun off. It cost them $30 bucks for the transfer fees but they held the gun until his return.

My guess it is not possible to leave it home, unless the RV is home!

Don't want this to become a political topic. I was just hoping someone would know of a place to do this in Maine.

I have not completely ruled out leaving it at home, but prefer not to. Probably will just adjust trip if I can't find a place.

Oh, I agree... I was not criticizing, just did not want you to get upset if it went away. I am with you, I would rather keep it if possible. Like I said a gun shop would probably be the best if they will take it... I am sure a phone call could answer that. Unless you know someone along your route to keep it safe until your return... Maybe a pawn shop as well but I can see that becoming an issue.. Not like you can leave the thing at the post office!

It is my understanding that you can declare it at the boarder crossing, It has to be locked in your trailer, also this is a pretty touchy subject on the rules of the forum. I know alot of people that hunt in Canada, you should call the providence your going to enter in and get real low down on it.....

Ugh.. the warning is annoying...

Handguns ARE NOT ALLOWED in Canada... I think a recent post from our northern bretheran corrected someone else who said a similar. Shotgun / Hunting Rifles are not the same as a handgun. Declaring it will get you in the klink.

Gun storage Maine

Leave it at home. Don't try to bring a hand gun to Canada.

I could see how this is such a touchy subject for the gun toting USA.

I remember back in my jeep forums, guys heading into Moab, to go rock crawling, and needing to bring their handguns with them..

Millions around the world don't have guns, and they are still alive.

Don't have to worry about getting shot by your toddler....

Not that I would tell them what is in it... But I am not sure if that is allowed.

Leave it at home or find a FLF dealer near the boarder and have them send it to a FLF dealer near your home ( pre-arrange for them to hold until your return) Now you no longer have to worry.
