Does not appear that anyone on the forum has any comments. I have not been to this campground either. Would be interested in knowing if you are going there and if so, how your experience went. Always looking for new places to sit in the woods

I'm somewhat familiar with Happy Hills. Nice n clean and it has alot of seasonal sites along with regular camping. I have driven through it. That's about the extent of it.

We were looking at it because of it's proximity to the C and O Canal Trail...........we ended up doing a section of the The Great Allegheny Passage from Ohiopyle to Confluence and back this weekend...........what a great ride that was.

The c&o biking is great. Done it several times with the boy scouts. There are a couple of campground areas along the canal. They are federal, no hookups, portapots, and first come sites on the honor system. One is in Little Orleans. As we were tenting at the time (prior to my getting any type of camper), I did not pay attention to how level the sites were. There is a boat ramp also. Nice for a weekend really roughing it.
I have also been to Brunswick family campground. It has recently changed hands according to their web site. It is not large and is right on the river and the c&O goes right next to it. The trains also run right by it.
You should also check out fort fredrick. It is a md state park and also right on the river at the canal. Md state park campgrounds usually are no hookups with a limited number of sites having electric only but generally the camping pads are level. (I have not been to this one yet). Other md state parks I have camped in have had good bathhouses.

Forget I mentioned fort fredrick. It does not sound like it is up to usual md parks expectations. It has no hookups, is first come and is basically camping in a field. (Unless that is what you are looking for).
