Harrisburg to Ocean City Md

Anyone know the easiest way from Harrisburg to Ocean City Md?

Leaving tomorrow morning and there are several alternatives but I have no idea which is best with the trailer.

Thanks.

I-83 south to Baltimore Beltway 695 east, then over Key Bridge ($ and allows propane) on east side of Baltimore. I-97 south to US 50 east over Bay Bridge ($) to Ocean City.

If you take Baltimore Beltway west (west side of Baltimore) you will avoid Key Bridge toll $ but are subject to very heavy traffic & construction especially during the heavy rush hour traffic hours below.

Keep in mind I-83 & Baltimore Beltway will have very heavy traffic between 6:30am thru 9am, and 3pm thru 6:30pm.

Check Maryland Transportation Authority website for toll info. http://www.mdta.maryland.gov/Toll_Ra...ngs_rates.html

Best route I know of is down I-83 to Baltimore beltway 695, go around to exit 4 left onto I-97 for about 19 miles, then take ramp left onto US-301 for 24 miles. Road then changes to US-50, follow 50 right into Ocean City, Md. There should be no problems to the best of my knowledge with towing a RV. I have been on this road a few times. Have a safe trip.

We take PA 283 to RT 272 South into Maryland which turns into MD 272. Then we head east on RT 40 east to MD 72 South. Then onto DE 1 south to the beaches.

Not much traffic until you get to 40 which has a bunch of traffic lights. Only one big Hill to negotiate near Willow Street, PA.

Have a great time!!

Bay Bridge

If its a windy day I would avoid the Bay Bridge because the wind shear on that bridge is terrible. Last time I went across that on a Goldwing trike the wind shear almost pushed us into the side of the bridge.

If you go down DE 1 you would have the slowest ride in your life. From Del. beaches, Rehoboth very slow, lots of traffic, Dewey, Fenwick, and then you start the long slow ride into Ocean City. There you start at 146th street and all the stop lights, depending where you are going to, or where you are camping, you could be awhile. Just saying

Buddy, the only reasonable way to go is State Rt 283, thru Lancaster to Rt 41s at Gap. Rt 41 to Rt 2/7 into De, over rt 95 at Christianna. Continue S to the De Turnpike, to Dover. South past Dover AFB to the Beaches/Rt 113. Do NOT go to
the beaches, but go Rt 113 To Rt 50 and into Ocean City. I go to Castaways in Berlin a few times a year and NEVER go to Baltimore and the 695 NIGHTMARE! You asked for the easiest way, I drive a MH and would go no other way. I live in Middletown

Tuesday Sept 8 shouldnt be that busy into OC. There was a 23 mile backup heading west today going over the Bay Bridge. If you do choose the option to go south from Dover, take 113. Depending how far north you are going in OC you could go east on 90 that brings you in around 60th st. If you are going down further take 113 all the way to Berlin MD on 50. Where are you camping? We love Castaways but ended up moving near Bethany Beach so no need to camp here. Have a safe trip! Oh- we have done Bay Bridge many times with trailer and Class C and Goldwing and havent had a prooblem.
