Heading near Mrytle Beach needs suggestion

We are headed to Cypress Resort Campground for a week of camping along the inter-coastal waterway. I was just wondering if anyoen had any must see's or must do's for that area, we are only 15 minuts from the coast and Mrytle Beach so there will be plenty to do there as well. Will likely make a trip to Willmington NC while we are that close. Will be myself, the DW, the DD (17 yo) and The DS (8 MO). TIA

You'll need these to get there: Bald Head Island Ferry and https://ferry.ncdot.gov/ (*Ferry not required for Fort Fisher, but it does make for a nice relaxing trip - departs from Southport, NC)

X2 on Brookgreen Gardens. Your ticket is good for seven days. Go early in your trip in case you miss something and want to go back.

Take a ride to murrels inlet. Maybe 10-15 mins from you. Excellent seafood restaurants

Broadway at the Beach has lots of good restaurants and shopping. It's a fun place to explore. Ripleys Aquarium is one of the best aquariums I have ever been to.
We spend two weeks at Myrtle beach every September. The beach is beautiful.
Wilmington has the battleship to explore also.

Everyone has their own "favorite" place for seafood in the area, but for many, many years, we have always made the short trek up to Calabash, NC, which is just over the border from SC, during our vacation to North Myrtle and Cherry Grove Beaches. Colemans Seafood is our number 1 suggestion for fresh seafood!! Each year, we do try other places in the area, but keep going back to Colemans. The hush puppies they bring out before your meal, you can make a meal on them alone!!!

X2!

Also for a great restaurant that only the locals frequent try Pawleys Island Tavern. Amazing food!

If you go out to eat any other nights, try the Japanese place at Broadway at the beach, the filet is awesome.

Calabash is nice. FIL had a condo at crow creek we used to stay in calabash. Love the boundary house food. Another good one we like is crabby oddwaters. Not the nicest looking from the outside but great food on the water

This weather is beautiful. The sun is hot and apparently I didn't apply enough sunscreen today. Not miserable but must be more careful tomorrow. Going to Murrel's inlet Tuesday for dinner. So far loving sc and haven't left the campground yet.
