While no one can predict the 'weather' for January, especially in your neck of the woods, I would suggest going thru Detroit and taking I75 ALL THE WAY to Orlando, or at least Wildwood Florida, where you veer onto the Florida Turnpike the rest of the way to Orlando.
The trouble with using the other interstates, and eventually I95 I suppose, is that you are in very mountainous terrain thru several parts of West Va, and Virginia, and you're dealing with the poor conditions and traffic of I95 - not fun.
I75 is basically FLAT the vast majority of the trip, except for the mountains north of Knoxville TN... but that's it. Travel right thru Cincinnati, Knoxville, and Atlanta mid-day, or on a weekend, and you'll be just fine. In Atlanta, stay in the HOV lane ALL THE WAY from North of town thru to the South of town... no worries, no turns, no nothing.
