Heading to the Keys
Leaving tomorrow morning (Saturday) from Mobile, Alabama to Tampa (spend the night) then to Key Largo. Reservations for 3 nights at Point of View RV Resort Key Largo ... then 8 nights at Blue Water Key RV Resort in Key West.
We are caravanning down with our friend with a new FR Lexington (Displaced2 sign on) ... so, wave if you see a Solera and Lexington going down I-75. We aren't pulling a toad this trip - going to rent a car when we actually get to Key West.
Can't wait .. we are going to

Gorgeous! One of the unique features of the keys is you can stand in some places and watch the sunrise in the am and the sunset in the pm. Glad you are having a great time!

Pulled into Bluewater Key RV Resort today. Absolutely beautiful! A bit pricey, but well worth the splurge. Here is our site - completely private, on the canal, we have our own tiki hut complete with sink, tables, chairs, lights. If you come to the keys, stay here!

Here is a bit closer look at the tiki hut. We put the dog fence around the hut.

Those sites are privately owned and landscaped, rented out when owners are travelling elsewhere. Sure are nice!

Not really. I think some of the owners just want to recoup some of their investment. If you run a search on these RV lots for sale, they run anywhere from the mid $200K to $450K. And you know there is probably a monthly maintenance fee. Again they are beautiful, and the grounds are just amazing. No one is trying to sell you one. They are used to "renters" I'm gathering.

Yeah. Real estate in the Keys is very costly. Even for an RV lot.
When I was down there, I priced the shabbiest mobile home in the shabbiest mobile home park......250k. Boyeeeeeeeee!
That's why they ship in workers in large buses from Miami every morning. Who could afford a place to live there on min. wage?

We left the keys yesterday and will be back home in New Orleans tonight. Wonderful time, and I highly recommend visiting the Keys. Bluewater RV is fantastic and Point of View RV in Key Largo is also good. Now it's time to plan our next adventure!
