Question HELP me w/philadelphia public transportation

I am going to stay at French Creek State Park the last week of July. My idea was to drive to a metro type station and take public transportation to the historic part of Philadelphia. Where would be the best place to pick up public transportation to go to independence hall, and with reasonable parking fees for my truck.

From French Creek State park you might need to drive down to the Exton area, I think you could catch the SEPTA Train from there then probably catch the buses from the bus from there or maybe better a Uber. Good luck hope this helps some.

Once in the city you can use the Phila Phalsh. City transportation for tourists. Pay once and on and off all day. They have a web site you can check the stops. Don't park in the city!

My DW is in Phila all the time! Having grown up just outside the city, I get around pretty good myself. Lots to see and do in the City and the surrounding area. Dont hesitate to PM me!

Google the SEPTA map and schedules. SEPTA trains and buses go all over the area, and don't miss walking around in the historical and Redding Market area.

SEPTA does offer reduced/free fares if you are over 65. Contact them to find out if you qualify.

Thanks everyone for the leads. I googled SEPTA and decided to drive to the Downingtown station park and catch a local regional train to the Suburban station. I'll then ride the plash buses around. I discovered there is a Independence one day transportation pass for $13.00 that covers the train, bus, trolley, an plash buses.

Don't forget the Italian Market . . . and last trip, I thought I parked in a non-paying zone . . . a very expensive mistake ! !
