And there you have the biggest part of the issues on the road . instead of following the rules of the road people have the screw them attitude . no common sense , no courtesies , and no real idea of how to drive right . no wonder road rage is so rampant .

It's all about "give and give" if everybody is just a tad considerate the drive is a whole lot better!
I tend to "give" just to make my life easier...it isn't worth getting upset about and if I slow down 3 or 4 mph's for 10 or 15 seconds it isn't going to extend my days drive.

I've been on a lot of merge ramps but it seems to me more often than not there are no yield or stop signs on them.

Sec. 11-905. Merging traffic. This seems to make the most sense.

Unfortunately, it isn't just automobiles nor trucks, Coming home from northern Michigan on the 4th, I had a big class A that tried its best to ram me into the side of a pickup polling a trailer as he and his 40 foot rig kept coming up the on ramp never attempting to yield, Fortunately the pickup driver saw what was going on and stepped on the gas. I managed to get over with inches to spare.

The guy went flying on his way oblivious to anything but what he could see between those blinders he was wearing.

I had another 40 footer class A damn near take the front end of my motor home off when he cut back in after passing me. once in front, you could see him weaving all over the road.

Maybe it is time for a non commercial road test and license for these big rigs and tows pulling huge trailers. The RV industry will sell anything to anyone with the cash. They could care less whether the buyer is capable of safely driving it for once its off the lot, they wipe their hands clean of it.

There are laws also to USE your Turn Signals when Changing Lanes or Merging! The Goof Balls as described like to do the "Last Minute Dive"at High speed in front of you, then slam on the Brakes! All you can do is "DRIVE DEFENSIVELY"! Youroo!!

Yep, screw them. I am following the "rules of the road".

The situation I was describing is when the on ramp has a big triangle that says "YIELD". Most of our on ramps in PA have that. I have yet to see any signs along the highway for traffic already on the highway that says "Move to left lane for merging traffic" or "Slow down for merging traffic".

The absolute worst thing you can do if you're in the right lane at speed is slow down if the highway is busy. That's a good way to get rear ended.

I have to agree with you. I don't believe the rule of the road is to change lanes to make room for oncoming traffic. It is a courtesy. Whoever is merging onto the highway has to yield to the traffic. I know most drivers are not aware of this. Driving an RV or towing a trailer of any kind, I'd prefer to stay in one lane on the highway. No matter what the traffic situation, changing lanes is a chore. Also, it is safer to stay in one lane and maintain speed. I have no problem staying in my lane, stay aware and let them yield.
