Talking Holden Beach, NC

Some friends are going to Holden beach SC in a couple of weeks. We were hoping to join them for a few days. In searching for a campground there the only two I found "on the beach " was Holden Beach Fishing Pier, & Holden Beach RV Resort ....The resort won't answer the phone and the pier talks to me but don't have a website & I can't find much info on either!....Has anyone stayed at either place?...I would feel better with personal recommendations & more info!.....Thanks in advance!......

Update: After doing a Goggle Earth search we discovered the Holden Beach Pier location was the only campground on the beach. The Holden Beach RV Resort never returned my call. Reservations were made at the "pier".
Odd thing they don't take credit cards or debit cards, so reservations were made without deposit. They want cash or check at check in. $49.00 per night tax included per night for full hookups (less wifi & cable) for ocean front!..Not bad....

Anybody else ever stayed there?

The closest "real" campground to Holden Beach is a KOA at Shallotte, about 12 - 15 miles from Holden Beach.

The Ocean Aire camp world is a good camp ground located in 2614 Holden beach Road. It is a good camp place which is close to Sunset Beach and is only two and a half miles from Holden Beach.

It is open year-round and offers 240 campsites, with 30-amp or 50-amp electricity, water, sewer, modern bathhouses and laundry facilities. The swimming pool, golf course, pool tables, video games, volleyball, horseshoes and a playground are some recreational activities available for visitors.
