how is the drive? North GA to NC

Driving from Fla to Athens, Ga and then onto Cherokee NC.(first week of April) Mapping has us going thru GA (Athens) to NC on 441 (the south end) Was wondering how good or bad the roads were, were still new to mountain driving. Has anyone driven this route before??

At this timer 441 thru Smokeys from Cherokee to Gatlinburg is closed due to a landslide.

The drive is pleasurable and often the traffic is light and it is pretty much all 4 lanes all the way to Cherokee. In fact there is only Cowee Mountain between Franklin and Dillsboro that poses any real significant climb while towing. Other that than that the drive is a little more hilly than parts of I 75 near Gainesville or I -10 near Tallahassee...
