Hunting Island South Carolina State Park

This is our third trip in our camper. So far we went to three beautiful state parks, two in NC, Jordan Lake and Falls Lake, and now, the third trip, is in SC.

This park is nothing short of gorgeous. It's got beautiful camping sites with 50 amp and water, very near the ocean. Some camp sites are next to the beaches.

There is salt water fishing close by, beautiful, clean beaches and even a 1850's-era lighthouse to visit. Today we saw a group of artistic painters using thiis feature-rich area as subjects.

This trip is way too short, just three nights, but the next trip here will be at least a week and we'll have some shrimp for the grill!

Just thought you might want to know about this great campground and the area around it.

Spent some time there early this spring, 100 feet or so to the beach. The 'dead forest' on the beach taken over by the rising water level was awesome., if not eerie.

We'll be back.

We had looked forward to our first stay at HI. We would not recommend any of the sites not on the beach front row. Huge mosquito problem in the back and sites that too tight for anything over 20'... Beautiful island, the beach is great, and we go no less than four times a year to Beaufort. Will probably return to our hotel stays here and leave the campground to others.
