Hwy 476 to hwy 84 in Pa. to Hartford

Would like your input on this planned route. We will be
traveling in a 3011DS pulling a Saturn Vue. We are trying
to bye pass large cities since we have been there before.

Are these good roads, meaning smooth etc. We are ending
up in Nova Scotia. We are not new to rving just trying
to gather info from others.

Thanks

We are also heading to the Maritime area for June, Jul and Aug.
We are coming in from the south into Allentown PA and heading to Newburgh NY where we will cross the Hudson River into Connecticut.
This is the main truck route as other routes into CT are limited to cars and have tolls.
So I would suspect the route on 478/84 is good road but expect trucks. I can tell you it is the only route possible for me as I also have MH and toad totaling 54 ft.length.
We have a RV caravan meeting in Bangor Maine on June 19th at the Pumpkin Patch RV Campground.
We will be spending 2 months and 3,000 miles in Canada so maybe we will meet some place.
Spending a few weeks in and around Nova Scotia.

LOL. Yes 60 days lollygagging.
We have plenty of tours planned as well as local entertainment.
Seafood and more seafood is my plan.
Oh and a little drinking here and there.
Our plan is to slow down and enjoy the view and time together.

Do we cross paths anywhere?

You might need to recheck your route. 476 does not meet with 84. You will have to take 476 n to 80e to 380n to access 84. All major interstates with easy travels. Happy travels

You guys will be driving right by my house on this route..

I assume that you are entering 476 from the southern end where it comes off I-95? For the first 20 miles or so, I-476 is not a toll road. Once you get to the Mid-County area, it becomes the PA turnpike's "Northeast Extension," and you'll be paying tolls from there to the northern end, roughly 100 miles.

Previous poster is correct, 476 does not intersect with I-84 directly...you exit 476 near the end of the Turnpike at the Wyoming Valley exit, then you get on I-81N for a few miles, then that intersects with I-84E in Scranton. I would not do the I-80 to I-380 to I-84 route--it's longer and 80 is often a mess with NY traffic, especially on weekends (we have a lot of New Yorkers who have, uhh, relocated to NEPA and have brought their traffic with them.) As stated, all interstate, all easy towing. Here's a link to the PA Turnpike and the toll calculator:

Pennsylvania Turnpike Preferred Traveler

Good luck!
