UPDATE: CARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Officials in Tennessee say the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Campbell County have reopened to traffic nearly two weeks after a large rockslide closed the roadway near the Kentucky border.

Media reported the lanes reopened Wednesday night. Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesman Mark Nagi says the northbound lanes remain closed.

TDOT awarded a $2.9 million emergency contract last week to Charles Blalock & Sons, Inc. The contract includes the removal of slide debris, stabilization of the existing slope and interstate repairs.

The contract stipulated that the road's southbound lanes reopen by March 17 and that at least one northbound lane reopen by March 24.

TDOT officials say the entire project must be completed by April 15.

25W ok for 40' fifth wheel and long wheel base truck?

Looking at alternate northbound routes from Fl. I know 25e pretty well having traveled that a lot before I retired.

My preference is the more direct route, 25W, but am concerned about mixing with other NB traffic including semi's on a 2 lane winding road. Like mentioned above, I75 detours are usually crowded.

Great news

That's great news. We are traveling from Sanford, FL and will hang out in Pigeon Forge, TN until 4/1 and then head back to Cincinnati. Hopefully by then traffic will be moving smoothly but slowly through the one lane.

Although I didn't mind the 25e detour I didn't really want to travel so far out of my way.
