I-75 South ?

I will be making a trip to Lake View, Ohio to pick up a Rockwood 8285WS 5ver in early February 2011 from RV Wholesalers. My question is on my return trip to Florida, I will be using I-75 S. If I recall there is a very steep
section of I-75 just on the north side of of Knoxville, TN or is it Chattanooga, TN? If my memory serves me right, it is a very steep down hill drive that requires much caution for towing and braking.

Can some enlighten me on the conditions of south bound I-75. I have also been told that by using I-75 for winter driving, it is pretty much kept ice and snow free and would be the best route.

Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

Yes, Tennessee has the best roads in the US!

As for I-75, just remember that there is no way to cross the Appalachians without some steep grades. I-75 is far from the worst and if I remember correctly the stretch coming down from Ohio to Georgia doesn't have any major short, steep grades like I-26, I-40 or I-77.

Now once you get past Macon, make sure and stay the heck out of the fast lane! I-75 has the fastest traffic I've seen anywhere...
