Thanks for all the replies! The 81-66-17 doesn't save me any time. I've looked into the 301 route and don't want to deal with all the lights and 2 lane roads.

I'm fairly confident I might be able to sneak through Baltimore and DC, but if the road surface conditions are that bad, I'd rather just save the beating, on myself, truck and trailer. I know I can make Charlotte in 8 hours, and have driven that route a few times in the past few years. Guess I'm taking the scenic route!

I knew I was going to come home 95-26-77-81, but I'm less concerned with making it to a certain point coming home.

I used to live and commute there. Normally I'd say stay away. But the day after Christmas, on a Sat., I think you'll be okay.

I know DC traffic could easily eat that up, but wondering how much there would really be this time of year. Booked point south KOA in Yemasse SC for that night, an hour is the difference between about a 10 or 11 hour ride. Any words of wisdom? Always went 95 when we went down years back with my parents, but we usually left at 2 or 3am. Will be leaving at 7 am so would hit Baltimore around 9:30.
Pray you do not have a flat going through PA, Washington or especially Baltimore or you will need an armed guard while you are down. That is not a joke! Below there should be good.

I spend most every Christmas in DC. On a weekend the day after Christmas you are not going to have any traffic. It is Saturday this year

You can do 301 to 50 ( Bay Bridge no toll going south)
50 to 495
495 to 95.
Should be minimal work traffic on 26th so you should be OK.

95 around Baltimore

I live just off 95 south of Baltimore and I wouldn't be too concerned about traffic here but around DC it can be a crap shoot. Of course you know that the tunnels don't allow propane but you can go around via the Key Bridge or 695 west. Not sure if there will be any weather issues since the Key Bridge can restrict RV's if it gets windy. I just came down and around 95 and 695 west on the 19th of December and didn't have any issue rolling between 50 and 60 most of the way.
Best of Luck and God Bless, Rob

Just throwing this out there. PA 15 to MD 270 then get on 495 to 95 south of DC. I will be going this way Dec 28, first stop Roanoke Rapids then to the TT at point south. Have gone this way pulling Rv for 2 years. After 9 am traffic flows decent. No tunnels

X2 I live by Gettysburg and always go 15 to 270 to 495 west side to 95. Saturday's are good no problem. Weekdays need to hit 495 south before 7:30 am or between 9am and 3pm. Or after 7 pm. Hit those windows should be good.
