It depends on the day and time you go through Atlanta. I always go straight through downtown (staying in the middle lane) as long as it is between 10 am and 2 pm. After or before that, use I-285 west. Also, make sure you go to I - 475 as you get close to Macon. Have a fun trip and good luck!

I lived in Atlanta area 11 years, and I agree with Hannah. Listen to AM750 where you can get traffic reports every 6 minutes. Traffic problems on I-75 are on "The Connector." If they don't mention that name, you're okay. 6:30a.m. to 9:00 and 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. is when you go around the west side of the city.

If you need to camp somewhere, stop at the incredible Stone Mountain Park campground on the east side of the city off Hwy 78 East. It's the prettiest park just about anywhere.

At FW we were in the 200 loop and it was tight! the guy across from me had a mobil repair guy at his site. the first time in 10 years of RV`ing I had to ask someone if they could move there truck so I could back in. other wise not too bad!

I was in the truck for 14 hours buy the time I pulled into Stone Mountain. that is a long day that I do not recommend, nor would I do again anytime soon. 12 hours is max for me! and that is pushing it.

We were in the 1800 loop when we were there last month. I thought it was tight in there until we went through those preferred loops... Then again, they are the oldest in the park and were built way before larger campers were the norm.

We're in the 800 loop. The roads are narrow (not like Lake Rudolf), but I nailed in one try.😊

And we cruised right through Atlanta, on 285, 6:30 Friday night.👍
