Kampers Lodge Wilson,NC

I've got to put in a "plug" for the new owners of the Kampers Lodge, located on HWY 301N in Wilson, NC.
Just a few miles east of I-95 and about an hour east of Raleigh, NC.
camping in Wilson - Kampers Lodge Campground - near Rocky Mount, North Carolina

In the past, the campground once had a rough reputation.
But not any longer with Mrs Sherron and Mr. Syd.

They are in the process of renovating the entire campground and facilities.

The swimming pool is nice and clean.

Nice laundry room with new washers and dryers.

The have had a professionally made put put golf course, that meets tournament standards.

And the donkeys are cute too.

And they are pet friendly, Sid and Sherron too!

The store/office is well stocked. They have a bait shop and also do propane tank filling.

The rates are great, be it one night or monthly.

I can't say enough about how great I'm enjoying my stay here!
So if you in the area and passing through, be sure to stop by and get some rest.
Derrick

That is real good to hear about the campground. We often wondered how it was to stay there we have family close by.

That's cool!
Be sure and say "hey", if or when you stop by.
I'm down here in the "I" row.

Found this guy in a ditch that runs along the campground.

The rain would just run off the ends.

I have the awning now in a more permanent set up, using the PVC pipe concept.
For several days/nights in a row, the awning held up to many wind gust that were over 30 mph.

Yea the campground is nice and so conveniently located to be close to both my kids for a short period.

I rented the cabin for a week over the Thanksgiving Holiday for my mom and dad to stay and visit.

Then my son stationed at Ft Eustis in Newport News, Va came in on Amtrak in downtown Wilson.

Then my daughter and son-in-law that live in Raleigh came over several times, which allowed my family to spend a lot of time with each other over the holiday.

In this pic, we are enjoying the nice weather while eating turkey day leftovers.

Can't get much better than that!!

I have stayed twice at Wilson. It is nice, this year there was a definite uptick in the cleanliness and attitude. My Jack Russell loved going to see the donkeys. We just stayed the night last year and this Sep on the way to VA. Great place, highly recommend.

A few more yard decorations that were set up today.

Around the Putt-Putt golf course.

Outside the office door.
