Kerr Lake Campgrounds

I am looking into going camping on Kerr Lake somewhere this August/September. I was curious to hear of any other forum members experiences and preferences as to where to look in to. I would like to be in a relatively close proximity to decent fishing if there is an area on the lake that is any better than another.
Thanks in advance!

It might be handy to know which of the likely many Kerr Lake / Lake Kerr's you might be asking about.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out campgroundreviews.com. I've found it to be an excellent source.

We've camped throughout this country and Kerr Lake is one of our favorite campgrounds. We have not camped on the Va side so I can't speak to that. In NC there are sites lakefront with electric and water. You can swim, fish and keep your boat at your campsite and for the most part the sites are spacious. Kerr lake is known for its fishing. We have camped at JC Cooper and County Line campgrounds. You need to book way in advance. Best sunsets ever.Click image for larger version

Thanks lablover. If you just had to pick one of the two you mentioned, which would you pick? Also are there any lots you would recommend to ask for? I would prefer to be on the water!!!

I live on the lake in Clarksville VA. The best CG and fishing is close to 2 COE CG. Longwood and Rudd Creek period. You can look at there web site to pick your CG on the lake . You need to be careful not to pick the split level ones. If you need more info or a specific site let me know, I know it like the back of my hand....

There is also a live web cam on , in the town of Clarksville. Just Google Clarksville Chamber, you will see downtown, the lake and our community dock, it's all live 24/7
