Planning frequent trips to key West. Just bought a Sunseeker 2600 but no tow vehicle. Where is the best place to stay near downtown Key West with no car. I have been told to consider Boyd's. Does anyone have experience from Boyd's without a vehicle or does it pay to rent one of those little 3-wheeled vehicles.
From what I remember, its difficult and pricey to park downtown. Looks like bus service might be an option - HELP.

We have stayed at Boyds several times over the last few years in the Nov-Dec timeframe but never for more than a week so don"t know about lower weekly or monthly rates. Their short term rate was around $100/night. Boyds is on Stock Island not Key West and is about 4 miles from Duval Street but that is about as close as you can get. You'll need some mode of transportation to get in and out. We always drive our toad and haven't found any problem with finding free parking (Elizabeth St is always good) at a distance about 4-5 blocks east of Duval. We always camp at Sunset Key at Mile Marker 39 as its about 18/night using RPI. Its an Encore resort. You can rent a car for less than the difference in cost between the two resorts. Good Luck.
