KOA campground Meridian Ms

Just a note to anyone who uses kOA's as a stopover while traveling. I have a tough run from Houston, TX to Birmingham, AL every couple of months. I usually stop in Baton Rouge at the KOA which is wonderful. This time I chose to drive all the way to Meridian, MS where a KOA was listed just off the highway. Note of caution for those thinking of using this campground. It is a dump. Muddy, raw dirt sites that are unlevel and rutted. You can barely get a big rig around the corners and getting out is an even bigger hassle. The office was closed when I arrived (5pm) and still closed when I left the next morning (9am). The pool was a green nasty mess and the whole campground was full of broken down furniture and trash. It's mostly homesteaders and its the first time I have felt unsafe while traveling. There was no wifi or cable and only a trickle of water. After reviewing the campground on several sites (which I should have done before I used it) I found that the park has been going downhill for quite a while and the owners could care less. I tried to review this campground on the KOA website and it wouldn't let me. Kind of fishy. But anyway.....just a warning for those traveling through MS on I59/20

I used the Meridian KOA just for an overnight stop over about five years ago. Sounds like things never change. What a coincidence, we're going to the Denhim Springs KOA (Baton Rouge) this weekend to go tubing near by!
