Lake George, NY Campgrounds

Just booked a stay at 4 Mile Creek in July! Now I need some info on camping in Lake George, NY. We'll be stopping there on our way to Niagra Falls. I figured some of you world travelers may have some inside info on campsites in Lake George that you want to share. I found some, and this one looks nice..Enjoy the family friendly Adirondack Camping Village only Two Miles from Lake George Village

Any suggestions? Definately looking for full hook ups for this part of the trip.

We have stayed twice at the Lake George RV park. It's a little pricey, but we feel its worth it. 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool, paved bike paths, paddle boat pond and evening entertainment. We have seen a few cruise ship quality entertainers, such as a ventriloquist, and several magicians. A few of the other entertainers have been so so.
If you have kids and the time, check out the Painted Pony Rodeo. They have their own location and usually have shows on Wed, Fri and Saturday Nights.

I have stayed at Lake George Escape and love it, its my favorite campground up there. It is usually less expensive than Lake George RV Park (which is very nice). I usually stay in the 600 sites you can find spots there that are pretty private and not right on top of one another. In the summer they have a van that will take you in and out of town. Probably only complaint is that you can hear some traffic from the highway sometimes. If you go, stop at Oscar's in Warrensburg for smoked meats for the grill (endorsed by Rachael Ray).

The ones above are very nice RV parks. Lake George
is a little pricey but very nice. It was pricey in the 50's when my parents took us there
in the summer. Good Luck

Thanks everyone! We are going just to take a day or two break in our travels to Niagra Falls so we don't have to drive for 8 hours straight. We'll have Luna the Lab with us so we are looking forward to a dog friendly town, which I understand Lake George is. Not looking to be entertained as much as just to relax and enjoy our new HTT!

Look into Moose Hillock Campground Resort. They are dog friendly. I stayed there last summer. Just opened last year. Real big private sites and awesome heated pool with water slides! Going back this summer!
WE drove thru Lake George RV Park to check it out. Looked nice but for me I wouldn't stay there. Reasons: Very really tall pine trees everywhere. They gave us a brouchure and one of the things it said was during a storm please park your vehicles in the open field. Everyone will have there favorite parks. That's what's nice about getting many thoughts on RV parks. Near by is a Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park had a great time there. Good luck and enjoy!

Moose Hillock, hands down! It is a brand new resort that just opened last year. Enormous private sites with full hook ups. Giant heated pool with waterslides, playground, activities and very family friendly. We went there last year for Labor Day weekend and will most definitely be heading back. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for IMHO.

sewingcybermom, Lake George RV Park opened a dog park last year, that's so nice, it made me want to get a dog. I was told they spent in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to build the park.
If you stayed in the East section (which is quiet) you are within walking distance.
