Here's the low-down on Hillman Ferry @ Land Between the Lakes(north end of LBL), Grand Rivers, KY.....Campground opens 1 March but water is not available until 1 Apr to avoid freezing temps. While reservable sites may be booked up a large number of sites are non-reservable specifically for first come first serve visitors. Federal holidays and special events at the campground are your only worries when it comes to filling up the entire 384 site area. Land Between The Lakes for downloadable map and campground details. If you find yourself on the south end of LBL check into Piney Campground with a little more grass and slightly larger sites. Same rules, fees and services just farther south.

Just got back from our 1st trip in the new camper. Hillman Ferry camp grounds were very nice. I wish I could say the trip down was easy but we ran into 25 mph winds so driving was a handfull. The trip home was 1 1/2 hours faster than going. All the workers were very friendly and helpfull. We were at C92 and had a great view of the lake.
