Letchworth state park, ny

Planning a trip to Letchworth state park in NY this year.
Looking for any positive or Negative reviews on the sites. Looks like electric only sites.
Park ratings are high, voted the Best in the Nation in 2015. Just looking for more information .

Right in our back yard! We love that park. You are correct power only with water every few sites. There are loops for folks with dogs or not. We prefer the not but doesn't really matter. There are some nice large sites on the outside of the 700 and 800 loops. Lots of hiking and beautiful things to look at...
Here is a site to research the sites...good luck and

Letchworth is a beautiful park. We're about 1 1/2 hours from there, and we go there every year. I have a 38' 5th wheel, so we look around for large sites that are easy to get into. And yes all sites are electric only. We try to get a site near the water fauset, so we can run a hose to refill our fresh water tank when needed.

Great park. Didn't see any bad sites. We stayed there fall 2014 and enjoyed it.

Is there a map showing water fill areas or dump stations?
Looks like they only have accommodations for my 5th wheel in loop 200 when we plan on going.

If I remember correctly there is a 2 or 3 lane dump station just after the check in building for the CG. As for the water location I don't remember if there is a central fill up area. There is water every 4-5 sites. Might just have to setup and run a hose to fill the tank. That is what we had to do when we first started camping there. Now we just fill up and home and drive with it down, it is only about 45 minutes for us.

We stayed last summer. When we were there we did a little survey of the sites because we would like to return with our 5th wheel. We only looked at pet friendly sites so we made a list of pet friendly sites that can easily accommodate a big rig. Sites 718, 722, 737, 739, 741, 743 and 114, 120, 122, 127.

Beautiful park and all round beautiful area. We camped there with our grandson and our puppy a couple of years ago and would go back anytime the Canadian dollar goes back up closer to the U.S. dollar. I would recommend entering from the West or North entrances when you first get there as the south entrance way encounters some outrageous hills and curves that are hard on brakes when towing a larger unit. Have fun and travel safe. Old Guys (Brian and Joanne)

We have camped there a lot and have always come in via the Mount Morris entrance. If you are going to be there a while and looking for a variety food out side the park south of Perry there is a drive-in that has burgers, chicken, pizza, Italian dishes, and best of all ice cream parlor. On some nights it is cruise night with entertainment. There is a drive in theater and mini golf.
It is called the Charcoal Corral in Silver Lake - 7037 Chapman Ave., Perry, NY

Lechworth

Have not heard of lechworth since I was a kid growing up in that area. Used to be a state mental hospital on the level of that in the movie One Flew Over The Cookoo Nest!

Letchworth is as noted a very beautiful park. Recently they added an Olympic size swimming pool with a large apron area to hang out all day if desired. Most NYS Parks have water fill stations at or around the dump station, separate from the water used to wash out your dump hoses. Most visitors will simply find their campsite and locate the nearest water spigot to their site, they run usually on both sides of the road, and just fill your tank before setting up camp. Just out side the town of Perry entrance is the cute town of Perry with a very good reasonable home cooked food restaurant called the Lumber Yard if need be. Enjoy WNY State.

The largest town around Letchworth S.P. is Warsaw at the intersection of I believe state routes 20A and 39. Further down 20A (West) just past the hiccup town of Varysburg is a large country western jamboree called Jam in The Vallery, across from Brynecliff Golf Course. Huge huge firework display on Saturday. If you like the music I think day tickets are about $40 a person. Google it.
