Looking for a campgrouns in eastern PA

We are looking to take a trip in a few weeks in eastern PA. We want to go Kayaking along the Susquehanna River. We are looking for a campground that has Kayak rental close by the campground. Anyone have any suggestions?

It may help to narrow it down. The river runs from NY to MD. There are many options. Will you be closer to Harrisburg or Sunbury or Bloomsburg or Scranton, etc.

Closer to Harrisburg. I was actually looking close to Columbia Pa., but since this our first time kayaking as a family I am not sure what to look for. I was also looking for somewhere that offered half day trips.
Thanks

I think the most popular area to kayak is north of Harrisburg. From Sunbury to Harrisburg. Lots of rentals, Lots of campgrounds They have a "river trail" you can follow.

Susquehanna River Trail Middle Section

South of Harrisburg, I don't much about but I know people that have rented kayaks from here.

Shank's Mare/Go Play Outside (Wrightsville, just across river from Columbia)

and camped here:

Otter Creek Campground - York County Campground - PPL Campground (10 miles south of wrightsville)

Didnt know they had this. Here is another river trail for south of Harrisburg to Maryland. Looks like you have to buy the map to get the goods tho.

You may want to check out this CG as well. It is north of Harrisburg as well, up the Juniata. https://buttonwoodcamp.com/

I've rented from Shanks Mare and bought a thing or two from them. Good people.

My wife has family that stays at Otter Creek often.

It's not on the Susquehanna, but the Jonestown KOA has kayak rentals and a shuttle up river right from the campground. Looks like a great family kayak spot. We are staying there this weekend (site on the creek), but not taking our kayaks - too far to haul them for a weekend trip. This is our first camping trip to the Hershey area, so looking forward to checking it out.

That sounds like a good time. Let me know how you like it. We have never Kayaked, so we are looking for somewhere family oriented so we can figure it out.

Would you consider that area to be good for the novice family?
