Looking for Big Rig friendly Water front sites in the North East

One of my favorite things to do is camp right on the water.

The place we've always gone to and love is no longer pet friendly. Can anyone provide some suggestions for good places?

North of NC and East of Ohio would be the area I'm looking in.

Thanks!

Welcome to Bay Shore Family Campground's Website!!!

We loved this place before we bought property of our own at Pyma. Although it isn't exactly east of OH, being IN Ohio, but it's on the very eastern edge. So close to PA you can toss a rock...

Otter lake looks like a nice place to visit with lakeside sites. I have never camped there but they have good reviews.

We really like the public campgrounds. My latest favorite is JC Cooper Campground on Kerr Lake, NC on NC/VA border. This used to be COE but the state is running it and it has lakefront w/electric. Very peaceful and serene. There are other campgrounds on Kerr Lake in both NC and VA but stick with NC as the rules are more laxed and you can pull a canoe, kayak or pontoon up to your campsite and swim from your site, rather than have to go to a designated roped off swimming area. Fishing is supposed to be great. We will find out next weekend when we are going for a long Columbus holiday weekend. We have the honeymoon site, 54, which has water on 3 sides. Cant wait.

I've heard that "public forests" aren't big rig friendly.... we have a 42' 5er

We have some provincial parks that have lots of room. Inverhuron even has 50 amp hydro and sites are 100 ft long. Lots of trees and Lake Huron. There are 4 Group sites that will fit 4 trailers, only 2 30 amp electric service this year, they plan on more. There is water at site and full washroom/shower house. Full west lake view .
